Michael explores the conceptual metaphor in the first serious departure from his bold, layered abstract works in six years.  Retaining that elusive Whitehead quality, the works in his new series invite the viewer beneath the layers and into recognizable form. 

Is it as simple as it first seems, or will you too find yourself in deep?
